One of the smartest priests I've met (who is now the Bishop of Virginia and does low mass at the National Cathedral) explained what sin is. (Realize I had asked why someone could do something that I considered a sin and they were carrying on with no thought of sorrow.) He said that (based on the individual and their relationship with God) sin is what separates the individual from God. It will be different for each person based on their relationship to God. (made sense to me).Now I've been sitting on that for a few days, letting it roll around in my 3 pounds worth of neurons. I had full intentions of engaging in a new dissertation on the subject, but after several hours of recumbent consideration (that would be thinking while lying down), I've decided to just let the aforementioned citation stand on its own merit for you, the reader, to interpret.
