Short Day

This entry post at the moment of the Winter (or December) Solstice, when the north pole of the Earth's rotation axis is at its furthest tilt away from the sun.  Accordingly, we'll see the "shortest day", or the date with the least amount of hours of sunshine all year.

GOOD!  Now tilt the Earth back the other way and let the sun shine more and more and more!  I'm no fan of winter, other than the fact that the cold kills the mosquitoes.

Sadly, we've got at least two or three more months of cold weather before it warms back up.  I'll be ready.
