Lost a kid....

When I wrote On Passings last night about the bluegrass song "Angel Band", I had no clue that a few short hours later I'd be walking around the burned shell of a house singing that same song to myself.  We lost a young boy last this morning, just a month shy of his second birthday.

1:35am dispatch "Sunflower Dispatch to Indianola FD and Rescue 1 - house fire on 234 Anywhere Street (address changed for privacy) in Indianola, report of a child still in the house."

The words and the tune came quickly:
O come, Angel Band, come and around me stand...
O bear me away on your snow white wings, to my immortal home....

I've almost gained my Heavenly home, my spirit loudly sings...
The Holy ones, behold they come, I hear the noise of wings.....

O come, Angel Band, come and around me stand...
O bear me away on your snow white wings, to my immortal home....
Here's three different versions of the same song, with the first being the way I heard it for the first time, the second is a full version, and the harmonies in the third are perfect:
